Khalid A Al Bassam
Mr. Khalid A Al Bassam is the Chairman of Al Bassam Investment Company W.L.L. , Bahrain. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, from Eastern New Mexico University, USA. Khalid has extensive experience and knowledge in banking and central banking.
His 37-year career includes extensive experience in management, banking and investments. He was also the Chairman of Foulath Holding and a Board member of Gulf Investment Corporation, Kuwait.
Previously, was the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Chairman of Bahrain Islamic Bank B.S.C., Vice Chairman of Bahrain Stock Exchange and a Board member of the Social Insurance Organization Bahrain.
Dean Rowan
Mr. Rowan is an internationally respected consultant and an advisor, author and market commentator. He has over 27 years of extensive experience in boards, governance, director development. He is a Subject Matter Expert in risk, credit, compliance, AML and governance.
As a practitioner, Mr. Rowan has worked with Barclays Bank PLC, London as Head of Group Risk and earlier with Westpac Bank in Australia as Head of Risk, Global Treasury, as well as Head of Credit. He worked for over 10 years with Citibank in Australia and throughout the Asia Pacific region. In the GCC he has worked with the National Commercial Bank as Head of Operational Risk and Basel II and as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer with Gulf One Investment Bank.
He is a Senior Fellow of Financial Securities Institute of Australia, Fellow of the International Compliance Association, Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, a Fellow of the Taxation and Management Accountants of Australia, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Asim Khan
Asim Khan, a Fellow Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years of experience in investments and finance, is the CEO of Khalij Group (United Kingdom) one of the leading Islamic investment and advisory conglomerates, with assets under advisory in excess of USD 4 billion.
He has won various accolades including “Global Islamic Finance Leadership Award” and also the prestigious “Avicenna Medal” in recognition of his services to Islamic Finance. He is also included in the 'Power 100' as one of the most influential British Pakistanis in the United Kingdom.
Due to his decades of expertise in investment banking and Islamic finance, Asim serves as technical member on various Shari’a Boards to review and approve Shari’a compliant investment structures and products.
Asim is a regular speaker on Islamic finance and continues to speak at various events and forums, including Islamic finance conferences, events, and training and also appears on television for various UK, European and Asian TV channels. Asim also holds an honorary doctorate in comparative religion.

Dr. Kaiser Naseem has over 40 years of international experience in industry, development banking and finance. He has worked with the World Bank Group/IFC for 26 years and has conceptualized and developed new institutions and business models in challenging environments.

Rehan Zulqadar
Chief Executive Officer
Rehan is a senior governance, risk and compliance professional with over 2 decades of experience. Previously lead the risk advisory practice for a regional consulting firm in KSA as a Director where he played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the risk advisory practice to a significant topline.
He also held senior/leadership risk and compliance positions in financial services sector investment banks, financing companies and investment firms and as advisor to the Board members/ CEOs.
He holds an ICA-UK International Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance, a CFA Institute Investment Foundations, an Associate Professional Risk Manager and a Certified Operational Risk Manager (PRMIA-USA), Basel subject matter expert (CBiiiPro – USA) and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS-USA). He also holds an International Certificate in Banking Risk & Regulations (GARP-USA).
Nauman Khalid

Nauman is a senior finance professional with 25 years of experience in automotive (retail, import, distribution, and leasing), manufacturing, real estate (civil and modular, development and rental) and hospitality (affordable accommodation and facility management) etc., skilled at capital and debt (arrangement and restructuring), financial and internal controls (policy review, development, and implementation), ERP, RPA, and business analytics implementation.
He led organizations in developing financial strategies, deriving profit maximization, and ensuring corporate governance. Working in GCC for over 12 years in different senior capacities and regular participant of audit committees, advising boards of large family groups, listed company and directly to the Chairman.
He is an FCA from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and CISA qualification from Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and hands on experience with Power BI with Data modeling Data Analysis and Excel Data visualization.

He has served a large range of companies and groups of all sizes, ranging from multinational companies to family-owned businesses. He has acquired both firm and industry experience and served a number clients in trading services, F&B, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors.
He is an FCA, Law Graduate and has expertise in GCC Tax, Excise and Customs Duty, Zakat, transfer pricing, e-invoicing as well as tax planning and reporting.

Saima Laeeq
Financial Crime & Anti-Money Laundering
Saima, with over 2 decades of experience in fraud risk management including fraud investigations, anti-bribery practices, fact finding assignments and forensic assignments managed investigation on behalf of Government and Corporate clients and assisted in the recovery of financial losses as well as the implementation of prevention strategies in fraud, facilitated the recovery of millions on behalf of a Middle East client in a major money laundering scam, planned, coordinated and managed number of large project driven investigations.
She is skilled in identifying and assessing procurement, tender and supply chain management and inventory control related issues within diverse environments.
Prior to this she has served in various auditing and accounting roles for sectors including banking and finance, manufacturing, steel and auto industries, across jurisdictions from the Middle East, Gulf region to Canada.
She is a Certified Internal Auditor and her other core competencies include evidence gathering, dispute services, training and Anti-Money Laundering .
Javed Ghafoor
